Hello, my name is Sarah and I am a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor offering long-term counselling. I believe there are times in our life when we all need some additional support, to help work through issues within ourselves or our relationships.
I understand that it can take a lot of courage to ask for support when you’re feeling low, anxious, or when life is throwing challenges your way.
I specialise in working with people who have depression, anxiety, disordered eating, low self-esteem or relationship problems. I have years of experience working with addiction and it’s effects. I have also worked with those experiencing past traumas or abuse.
Through the counselling relationship we develop together, you will increase your understanding and self awareness, and as a result, realise your own ability to change. Together we will identify the root causes of the issues that you present, and I will support you in changing your self perception for the better.
An important aspect of our work together, is that there is time and space for you to ‘off-load’ and work through the various issues that may arise within the session. I ensure that we work at a pace that is suitable for you – I understand also, that this can take months or years. The results of therapy leave clients equipped with tools that can be used throughout their lives, moving forward.
Client’s therapeutic goals can vary from gaining back some control in their life, to managing tricky or abusive relationships – these relationships can be with other people, food, alcohol or drugs etc. I trust that clients are able to move through their difficulties to a place more comfortable when the right therapeutic conditions are experienced by them. Part of my job is to ensure these conditions are provided without judgement.
