It’s My Turn

It’s My Turn

It’s come to that point

finally in my life,

where soon enough

I will become a wife.

I only have one more wish

that I know will never come true,

and that’s to spend this one day

with someone as special as you.

I wish I could have you here mum

to plan my special day,

but I know you’ll be looking down on me

& it will always be that way.

There will be a seat waiting for you

to watch us say our vows,

finally, it’s come to me

It’s my turn to live happy now!

Written: Age 26

My name is Lacey and I have always had a passion for writing poems and drawing.

At 14 I lost my Mum suddenly.

As you can imagine it was pretty tough dealing with grief and being at a certain stage of my life.

From here I began to write more.
